The Levada Ribeira Grande at Rabacal

An even more comfortable Levada-hike is the Levada Ribeira Grande at Rabacal, since one has to manage nearly no rises here. Also here, one must look for the entry first. The area round Rabacal represents a Mecca for friends of Levada-hikes. From here, you can do several Levada-hikes, differing in their claims at condition and being free from dizziness.

This is the start of the Levada-hike: at it´s beginning one often is surrounded by cows

Here, one sees two Levadas - Ribeira Grande is the upper one,
below, you can visit the "25 fontes", the 25 water sources. This way was passble  by car,
last year, one piece of street has broken off however, therefore you can now manage that way only by feet down there

This water-fall is the end of this levada hike. If you walk not too slowly, you'll reach there in about an hour.
