A hike through the fog-forest (Laurissilva)

A hike through the fog-forest is a good possibility to plan a comfortable walk on very warm days without having to face big height-differences. Because of the height and moist, it is also virtually always pleasantly cool there. You should take a thin jacket in any case. From the small village Ribeiro frio (cold river) you can follow two routes, that both ask not very high claims to condition and being free from dizziness. The third picture shows quite clearly, why a torch is useful for many hikes on Madeira - sometimes it goes through small, moist tunnels. Mostly, there is however also an alternative to circumvent these black holes.
